God's Love Through Two People

As I was going through my blog and older posts that I hadn't published, I came across this wedding post that I never got the chance to post because my computer was acting up when I was loading the images.  This was one of the very first weddings I photographed when I first started out in the Wedding Photography business.  Even though it's a year and few months over due, this wedding and marriage can't NOT be shared. Enjoy!

Back in February I posted a sneak peak to the Durkin Wedding.  I finally am catching up with all my "fashionably" late posts, and I am excited to finally be able to post more images from this gorgeous union between Andrew & Lisa.

This couple is the type of couple that reassures you that true love is out there and that everyone can have a happy ending.  When I first arrived and found Lisa, she was absolutely glowing.  You could just tell that she was so excited to finally be able to join Andrew in a life long commitment of marriage.  They were both surrounded by people who truly cared about them and were just as excited for this union as they were.

Watching Andrew and Lisa exchange their vows is one of the most touching ceremonies I've witnessed in all the wedding's I have photographed.  There was just something about this couple that made your heart swell up.  I can't begin to describe how awesome it is to see two people express their love for God and dedicate their marriage to God.  It was such a gorgeous ceremony.  Love was in the air, and the love and happiness didn't end there.  It carried into the reception where toasts were made, tears of joy were shed, and dancing and laughter was carried on the rest of the night.  From bets that were placed between the groom and one of the groomsmen, to the beautiful toast of the bride's sister's, the cutting of the cake between Andrew & Lisa, the Father/Daughter and Mother/Son dance, to the Garter and Bouquet toss, and last but not least the continuous dance of all the weddings guests with the Bride and Groom.  There was the Cha Cha Slide, the infamous Michael Jackson Thriller dance, and of course my favorite the long train of dancers that paraded all through out the room.  Finally after one last dance, all the guests headed outside to wish Andrew & Lisa a "bubbly" farewell.

Andrew & Lisa's Wedding was such a gorgeous occasion and I wish them both continuous happiness and love in their future.  Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Durkin!

Ashley & Anthony Engaged: Destination Zion

After 7 years of dating, this lovely and fun couple are joining together to unite as one.
They are the soon to be Mr. & Mrs. Salas and I was awarded the pleasure of capturing their sweet love and engagement up in the gorgeous location of Zion, Utah.  Destination shoots are my absolute favorite.  They are always exciting, even more exciting when I've never been to the location before so I get to head up early to scope out the surroundings and find and pick out the perfect location for what ever my session calls for.
This location was simple yet beautiful, just like this couple.
I have known Ashley since we were in middle school.  Which made this shoot even more enjoyable.  Ashley and I use to walk home together almost every day when we were in middle school.  We had seen each other go through the typical middle school drama and heart ache growing up, and now as we are both grown adult women I have been awarded the pleasure in witnessing and capturing the beautiful relationship that her and her fiance share and documenting it with my camera.
The session it self was so simple, everything just clicked.  We did trek over a river and thru some brush to capture some moments, and in doing so memories were created that I know this couple will look back on and giggle about when they look at these photographs.  From crossing a river, to climbing up a giant tree to capture some of the gorgeous moments below, these memories will last a life time and will be fun stories to share with their future little ones.
I cannot wait to witness their beautiful day this coming August 11th.

I pray that God blesses your marriage with love and patience.
You two were made for one another, and I am so happy I was able to be a part of your journey to your wedding day.
Congrats my loves!

What's to come...

How should I start this post out on this simple Wednesday morning...

Good Morning...Buenos Días...Buongiorno...Bonjour...

Or simply Mornin' :)

Oh it's a beautiful Wednesday morning in Vegas, and I have been up for a few hours and luckily I have been able to slowly enjoy this sweet morning.

I enjoyed seeing the sunrise as I drove to work this morning.
I swung by Starbucks to treat myself to a sweet delicious Venti Hot Chai Latte....mmmm, it made my heart happy.

Now let's be honest...it's been a good while since I posted on here last.

But hey, I'm making progress. :)

This past month I had a destination engagement shoot up at Zion National Park in Utah with such a lovely couple.  I have known the Bride since 8th grade and it makes me so happy to have been able to capture their engagement and create lasting memories for them.

Also my sister was in town this past weekend and she got a new Great Dane puppy...yes a Great Dane...and for those of you who don't know...she already has 1 Great Dane.

Oooooh what a handful they are, but OH SO CUTE.

But while she was in town I was able to snap some super super cute photos of her new bundle of joy.  Her name is Zumie and she is a gorgeous blue Dane.  Absolutely squeezable I tell you.

I will be definitely posting soon the gorgeous "Zion Engagement" & my "Meet Zumie" session.

So, keep a look out for those two sessions to come, you won't be disappointed.

Happy Wednesday Loves!

With one year ending, another year is beginning

Hello Hello Hello.

Man oh man has it been a long while since I have updated this blog.  I apologize for being so M.I.A.

This past year has been crazy, or how I like to refer to it, Cray Cray.

I wanted to just take a minute to express my gratefulness for this past year.
I never imagined back in August of 2010 that I would meet and work with such wonderful clients, and be blessed to capture so many beautiful unions between each husband and wife I've worked with.
I had no idea that I'd be as busy as I have been and that I'd be booked into 2012 like I currently am.

I just want to say Thank You to each and every one of my clients, supporters, and as I like to refer to them, my #1 fans like Mama T. :)

I am definitely ready to close out 2011 and move in to 2012.  I'm excited for the new business opportunities I've been offered and all the up coming weddings and engagements I will be capturing. I have a feeling 2012 will be filled with more blessings and of course fun and beautiful weddings & engagements.

I have lots of goals for this fancy new year called 2012.  The question is, Is 2012 ready for alimcghie.com, I sure hope so. :)

I hope all of you have a Happy Happy New Year and that 2012 treats you well.

alimcghie.com Update

I just wanted to put an update up on here since I have been so caught up with work and unable to post on here.

I apologize for not having posted anything for a while, but as of right now I am going to be taking a break from blogging.  I am currently swamped with work and I graduated with my degree back in December, but now I am currently going to school for a second degree so I am unable to balance a blog on top of everything else.

For any updates please visit my alimcghie.com facebook page by clicking here, www.facebook.com/alimcghiephotography I am constantly updating that page with newest sessions and with updates about all that is going on with alimcghie.com.  Also I am also always updating and adding new photographs from weddings, engagements, etc. on my actual alimcghie.com website, which you can visit here www.alimcghie.com

Hopefully in the near future I will be able to start blogging again.  As of right now though I will be on break from blogging.

Thank you for being understanding & for supporting my passion with photography.

Newborn Ty

Hello loves!  Here are a few images from my session with newborn baby Tyler.  He is so sweet and beyond adorable.  He has the most beautiful blue eyes I've seen on a newborn.  Tyler was born in November 2010, and I photographed him in the middle of December.

He was such a wonderful baby and he had the cutest outfits and was such a little trooper.

He stayed awake for most of the shoot and then finally fell asleep towards the end which was perfect because sleeping infant portraits are my favorite.  I absolutely love how sweet babies are and every time I have the pleasure to work with children, I can't help but look at them in awe.  I still find it to be such a miracle that two people can create such wonderful and precious human being. It's such a beautiful ability that God has blessed us with.

Red Rock + Stilettos = Family Fun

First of all I have been so swamped since this past December that I have not been on top of my blogging like I use to be.  With that, I've had a few shoots slip through the cracks and not get posted on my blog, but I did post them on alimcghie.com's facebook page. So some of these posts are from shoots I did in December but didn't get a chance to post.

Better late than never though right?  (this is where you all shake your heads yes and smile)

So this post contains four gorgeous women, Red Rock Canyon, and Stilettos.

My good friend Taylor contacted me in December about doing a family portrait of her mother and her two sisters.  They all chose for it to be out at Red Rock Canyon, and I was definitely stoked because I had not had the opportunity to photograph out there yet, plus sadly, for as long as I have lived in Vegas...I had never even been out to Red Rock.

Well all I can say is wow.  Red Rock is beyond gorgeous and very rustic.  I love rustic scenery, especially for photographs. It made it even better that I was photographing such a lovely group of women.  These ladies were absolutely awesome to work with.  They were all so out going and the bond they all share is full of love and fun.  It is so nice to see such wonderful relationships amongst mother's and daughter's, and sister's as well.  The three sister's in the shoot reminded me of the relationship I have with my two sister's.  It's a very unique close bond that I personally don't tend to see that often.  So it is very refreshing and fun to be able to relate with them.

I enjoyed watching these ladies conquer the rocks and climb in their stilettos.  I think one of the highlights of this shoot was one of the daughters, Stephanie, was climbing down this large white rock and a tourist saw her and her heels and said, "Wow I think you chose the wrong shoes to hike in."  Of course Steph was polite and smiled.  But we all looked at each other like, "Really Lady...you think I chose these to hike in?" ha ha We all laughed about it the rest of the time.

Another highlight was in one of the shots we did I had the four of them stand off to the side of the road, and as we were doing so a line of cars started to form and slowly drive by as if we were a show.  I think so people may have thought we broke down, and others were just curious.  Entertaining for sure.
I just want to say thank you to Linda, Stephanie, Taylor and Alyssa for being such wonderful fun clients to work with.  You four woman are so gorgeous and have such a beautiful bond.  I look forward to working with you all in the future.
